Fully Remote - UK only

Want to work for a camel?

Camels are the new unicorns well according to Forbes. But how do you find one to work for? Whilst unicorns were easy to find as they were always p*ssing glitter all over the internet camels by their very nature are a bit more low-key.

The good news is that the team at SEEKR have a lot of experience tracking camels so we know how to find them. The business we are currently working for can most certainly be described as a camel. Born during a hackathon 4 years ago this business has been carefully built by the two founders ever since. They are closing in on a million sign-ups for their product and they have already converted around 150 000 of those into paid subscribers. Their growth has been slow and steady and they are loved by their users. Their product helps software engineers working remotely facilitate effective retrospectives whilst injecting a little color and fun.

The business is now ready for its next careful step and this is where you could play your part. The founders are looking for their first full-time software developer. The opportunity here is to help them add new features to the existing product that will help them convert some of their wider user base into further paid subscribers. The mission is well thought out and there is lots for you to get your teeth into. The product has a beautiful UI that is designed to delight users and whilst you likely consider yourself full stack you will most certainly care about well-crafted interfaces.

This role would be a great fit for you if you would like any of the following;

  • Working across the full stack

  • Helping decide what new features to build (you will solve problems for users that you experience in your own working life)

  • Diving into all aspects of software build and delivery

  • Building software for use by a massive number of users (and if you build it right directly contributing the growth of said user numbers)

  • Helping to shape the culture of a growing business of which you are now a founding engineer

What do you need to be considered?

  • Strong UI focus (React)

  • Fullstack experience (TypeScript / Node)

  • Interest in Go

  • Strong opinions weakly held

What is in it for you

  • Work fully remote (UK only as they want to offer equity and so you will need to pay tax here)

  • Equity - Real equity that has a clear vesting schedule and is not reliant on an exit

  • Salary of up to £75 000 (camel not a unicorn)
