Are you a parent of fur babies or even just the regular kind?  Remote working makes it easier to be a more involved parent. The problem is lately the trend seems to be towards heading back to the office which makes life frustrating if you value the ability to work from home and are currently sifting through job offerings.

Luckily there are still roles out there working for companies like this one where you can spend the majority of your time working remotely and get together with colleagues only at times when it makes the most sense to do so.

The work itself is varied and interesting in that you would be helping to build and maintain a suite of products targeted at veterinary practices that enable them to manage appointments, follow-ups, patient records, stocks of medicines and ordering thereof, and of course invoicing and payment.

This company could be a great fit for you if you value any of the following ;

  • Excellent work-life balance

  • The ability to work remotely for the majority of the time.

  • Joining an established company that is profitable and investing its profits in growth

  • You like writing software that has purpose and real users

You are a good fit here if you;

  • Have an established track record of software delivery and confidently consider yourself to be a senior engineer.

  • Have used Java extensively and are happy to continue doing so.

  • You are pragmatic about the realities of building software for a company that already has paying customers.

FAQ’s

  •  Remote the majority of the time? Yes. The company have offices across the UK but the software engineers rarely meet more than once a month and the cost of travel is covered when they do.

  • Can I work outside of the UK? No. you would need to be registered for and pay tax in the UK. It is sometimes possible to work for periods outside the UK but this would be agreed upon with your line manager on a case-by-case basis

  • What is the salary? £65 000 + benefits

All you need to do is send us your CV, if you don’t have one ready then just send a PDF of your LinkedIn profile, or start a word document and write a few lines about what you are working on now and why you think this might be interesting.
